SkinSpector analysis is based on a color-calibrated cross-polarized photo. Cross-polarization eliminates skin reflection completely and visualizes the subsurface of the skin. Each individual image is calibrated before the analysis starts, to ensure consistent results even when the room lighting changed. Then, the pigmentation and vascular condition is visually enhanced to demonstrate sun damage and redness. The integrated face-recognition system automatically selects the analysis areas; no manual selection is required. New image recognition patterns allow  SkinSpector to identify not only redness and pigmentation, but also to measure the extent of teleangiectasia or couperose. The analysis results are automatically compared with the patient's age group in the integrated reference-database. Personalized skin analysis reports are created right away.
